Review by hotel critic
The Wynnstay is a charming historic pub/hotel that offers a delightful culinary experience, truly a hidden gem at which to unwind after a day spent exploring the area. While the hotel may not boast all the modern amenities, it embraces a warm, inviting atmosphere steeped in history. The staff is notably welcoming, though they appeared slightly overwhelmed during busy times. At breakfast, I appreciated the buffet offering-ample choices that included classic British fare, and I particularly enjoyed the freshly cooked options. The onsite restaurants cater to various tastes, but one evening, I found the dinner menu presented a remarkable Michelin-worthy experience. Though the pricing felt steep, the quality of the food and the ambiance made it a worthwhile splurge. I should mention that my bed seemed a tad small for comfort, resulting in a restless night.
